Program Educational Outcomes (PEOs)

Based on the input from the various stakeholders, the management and faculty have developed the following PEO for the B.Tech. program. KCIT graduates will achieve these objectives within a few years after their graduation.

PEO 1: The graduates will be men and women of strong human values and professional ethics and will exhibit a great sense of leadership.

PEO 2: The graduates will be competent, creative and innovative in their field of specialization, with the ability to adapt to the changing trends and career opportunities in computer application.

PEO 3: The graduates will be socially responsible global citizens and contribute to the growth of the nation.

On successful completion of B.Tech program, the students are expected to:

PO 1: Computational Knowledge: Acquire knowledge of mathematical, computing, and domain knowledge for developing applications for defined problems.

PO 2: Problem Analysis: Identify and formulate the problem to be solved and present them in a form that can be solved efficiently.

PO 3: Design and Development: Design and develop efficient solutions for complex problems in domains like banking, insurance, healthcare systems, multimedia/mass communications etc.

PO 4: Research Activity: Apply research-based knowledge and methodologies to analyze, design and interpret data using the right tools, to provide sound conclusions.

PO 5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern IT tools to complex computing system activities, with an understanding of their limitations.

PO 6: Continuous learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

PO 7: Professional Ethics: Understand and commit to professional ethics and cyber regulations, responsibilities, and norms of professional computing practices.

PO 8: Personality Development: Function effectively as an individual, as a member or leader in diverse teams, in multidisciplinary environments.

PO 9: Communication Efficacy: Communicate effectively with computing society in both verbal and written form.

PO 10: Social Responsibility: Understand responsibilities and consequences based on societal, environmental, health, safety, legal and cultural issues within local and global contexts relevant to professional computing practices.

PO 11: Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Find out the right opportunity for entrepreneurship and create and add value for the betterment of an individual and society at large.

PO 12: Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of management principles and apply them in resource management and economics to provide better services in the field of Software development.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

At the end of the program, the student should be able to:

PSO 1: Solve real-world computing problems of various industries by understanding and applying the principles of mathematics, computing techniques and other related disciplines to meet customers’ business objectives.

PSO 2: Design, develop, test and maintain desktop, web, mobile and cross-platform software applications using modern tools, technologies, skills and computing models.

PSO 3: Develop the ability to carry out research, experiment, contemporary issues etc. to solve industrial problems.
