The library has 16858 volumes with 2571 titles of books and about 2550 back volumes of scientific and technical periodicals. The library also subscribes to nearly 26 National print journals, 10 International Journals, 03 IEEE Journals, 08 magazines, and more than 740+ e-journals & 700+ e-books. A separate reference section is maintained with Handbooks and General knowledge books. Further, the interlibrary loan facility is available through DELNET. Central Library supports departmental libraries in all departments. The library follows open access system encouraging the user to browse freely in the stock area. The library also provides NPTEL videos.

Important Instructions

  1. Cell Phones are NOT allowed into the Central Library.
  2. Students are only allowed into the Library with the Institute’s ID card.
  3. Library Books are issued through Barcode. Hence, all students must produce ID cards with barcodes for all Library Transactions.
  4. Students are advised to borrow up to one copy of the same Title.
  5. Students could go through OPAC for an online catalog search.

Rules and Regulations

  1. A maximum of five books available from the library will be issued to the student member for 14 days. It may be re-issued after 14 days at the request of the user.
  2. Books issued are liable to be recalled at any time by the librarian. Suppose there is a need for it book shall be returned within one day from the call date.
  3. CDs will be issued separately.
  4. If the book is returned after the stipulated time limit, a due of Rs. 1/book/day will be imposed.
  5. Any existing damage should be brought to the notice of the staff & signature be obtained; otherwise, the user should be responsible.
  6. If the book is lost, it shall be replaced by a new copy (or) by paying triple the book cost. Payments have to be made by holding the identity card.
  7. The students entering the library should sign in at the register.
  8. Should maintain silence in the library.
  9. If the requisitioned book is not available, students could register their claim. It will be issued as soon as it is available based on the serial number of the students.
  10. Claimants must get the book issued within two days to ensure it is given to the next claimant.
  11. A clearance certificate will only be issued if all the books/CDs are returned, and dues are paid.
  12. The dues have to be cleared at the end of the semester.
  13. Member shall not engage in conversation in any part of the library to annoy any other reader.
  14. Students caught tearing pages /stealing books, and violating the rules will be debarred from the library.
